During these uncertain times, many families have found themselves in a position of unemployment or underemployment. Currently, there are 30 million unemployed people in the U.S. — a level that hasn’t been seen since the Great Depression in the 1920s.
As a community partner, it is our Ramallah Club’s social responsibility to help people in our community who are experiencing difficulties because of the current pandemic. Therefore, the Club is offering a drive-up food pantry to people living in the surrounding areas of the Club.
We are accepting monetary donations of any amount (no amount is too small) to buy nonperishable foods from Sam’s Club and Costco to fill 100 grocery bags that will be distributed to 100 families at the Ramallah Club’s drive-thru pavilion. If you would like to donate nonperishable food items, please contact Peter Farhat at the information below to schedule a safe, no-contact pick-up time.
The easiest way to donate is to send an electronic donation via Apple Pay, PayPal, Venmo, or Zelle. Please send your electronic donations to:
If you prefer to make a donation by check payable to the Ramallah American Club of Jacksonville, please mail to: Peter Farhat at 1833 Long Cypress Court, Jacksonville, FL 32223.
Because of the urgency and need, please make your donations by Friday, May 8.
A list of all donors and their donations will be compiled and published in an upcoming edition of the Shoo Saar newsletter. If you prefer to remain anonymous, please let us know.
