Jacksonville, Fla. Norman Finkelstein, professor of political science, author and an internationally-renown speaker and expert on the Palestinian – Israeli conflict will be a guest lecturer at the University of North Florida, Monday, January 24, 2011, 7 – 8 p.m. in the university’s Student Union Auditorium.
The son of Holocaust survivors, Finkelstein is known for denouncing the media’s exploitation of the Holocaust. Speaking at college campuses around the world, Finkelstein is a vocal critic of Israel’s inhumane treatment of the Palestinians, and the manipulation of their victims for gain of attention and power.
In his book The Holocaust Industry: Reflections on the Exploitation of Jewish Suffering, Finkelstein writes:
“The Zionists indeed learnt well from the Nazis. So well that it seems that their morally repugnant treatment of the Palestinians, and their attempts to destroy Palestinian society within Israel and the occupied territories, reveals them as basically Nazis with beards and black hats.”
Dr. Finkelstein’s visit is sponsored by the local chapter of Amnesty International at UNF. For more information on Dr. Norman Finkelstein, please visit his web site: www.normanfinkelstein.com.
